Lake “Ada Safari” exists since 1994. This lakdistinguishes in the following:

- Popularization of carp fishing
- Improvement of behavior toward the catch (carp)
- First to establish the movement “Catch and let go”
- Fish fond with 254 carps weighing about 10 kg
- On competitions, in 48 hours, 10 teams catch up to 4 t of carp

Serbian SSR has given us technical organization of IX World Championship in Carp Fishing, which is going to be held on “Sava” Lake. Technical organization of such a large competition considers: stocking with fish, collection of historical data on “Sava” Lake, gathering of water analyzes results, arraigning of the venue and coastal land, infrastructural works, supply of meals on the track, organization of trainings, camping during the World Championship.

HISTORY OF “SAVA” LAKE

In 1967 flow of the river Sava has been changed resulting in peninsula Ada Ciganlija, “Sava” Lake and Lake “Taloznik”. On that occasion fish remained in the lake, while further, until 1985 and later, intensive fish stocking have created considerable fish fond.

You will see from the data in table that this water is of high 2nd category. These results date form 25.09.2006.

STOCKING WITH FISH OF SAVA LAKE

Spring fish stoking of Sava Lake has been held on 28th of March 2007 with 11.200 kg of carp, average weight 2.8 kg, which makes over 4000 carps. We are of thinking that the existing fish fond of carp and amur satisfies all criteria for organization of the World Championship. We want to emphasize that carps weighing around 20 kg have been caught since ’80, while amur was weighing over 30 kg.

SELECTIONAL COMPETITIONS

I selectional competition for Serbian Carp Fishing representation was held between 13th and 16th of April 2007. 20 teams have participated on the track One of Sava Lake according to F.I.P.S.e.d. rules. Competition lasted 56 hours 322 kg of carp have been caught; only 3 teams left without the catch. Biggest carp was 9.8 kg.

II round of the Serbian State Championship
Term: 16-19 of may 2007 Participated by 20 teams, in total 80 rods, with a catch of 2 122.95 kg of carp. 3.06 kg average carp weight. Only one team has not got a catch. I place: 355.00 kg, II place 243.4 kg, III place 153.80 kg
III round is scheduled between May 30 th and June the 2 nd 2007.

III selectional competition was held from 30th May until 2nd June, on the World Championship’s track 3. 18 teams have participated. The proof that the catch from previous competitions was not accidental is data from this round.
Total catch 973.60 kg, average weight is 3.05 kg.

III place 67.70 kg
Absolute State Championship is: Carp team “Soni Singidunum” Belgrade, other two teams which will represent Serbia beside the winners are: Carp sistem Zrenjanin and Auto sport Novi Sad.
- Gests on this round were Croatian representatives, which did not have any objections on the Championship’s organization.



TRANINGS

Due to distinction of Sava Lake location (6 km from the city center) and its basic purpose (bathing beach of Belgrade) we have determined training schedule as follows:
- Period: from 1st – 15th September 2007
- Training duration: 3 nights, i.e. 4 days
- Location: the angling will be held at the World Championship track;
- Three nations at max (9 teams) per term
- All interested parties are free to contact us in order to determine the time of their arrival.
- Price list:
- Angling permit: 24 hours = 15 euros = one person
- Food at the track: lunch 10 euros; diner 10 euros; breakfast 5 euros;
- Motel-hotel-camping: we will make reservation of your choice – the price depends on chosen accommodation.

Team of Slovenia - 3 contestants (6 rods), in 62 hours of fishing have caught over 200 carp, biggest catch was 11,2 kg. Training held May 13-16 2007.

S-a tras la sorti ordinea in care maine se va trage la sorti asezarea pe standuri. Romania are numarul 11.
Tragerea la sorti va fi maine la ora 8 (9 ora Ro) iar concursul incepe la ora 13 (14 ora Rom). Am sa va tin la curent cu tot ce se intampla in masura in care voi avea si eu informatii.
